Wash carpets environmentally friendly in the snow
1. Vacuum the carpet indoors.
Hair and other dust can easily get stuck, which you can easily remove by vacuuming the carpet. Also vacuum the fringe of the carpet. Tip: Remember to vacuum both sides and turn it in a place where you have a lot of space to work with, it makes it easier for you both before and after, as it can easily fly away dirt from it in the home when you turn it . If there is no good place for you to be, we advise you to vacuum it thoroughly in the place where it is located and then carefully carry it out!
2. Hang out the carpet for an hour or so. This is so that the carpet will be cold before you start.
For best results: Once you start washing the carpet, use powder snow and make sure the snow is clean. If the snow is wet or has lumps in it, the result will not be as good and the carpets risk not being thoroughly cleaned. Minus degrees are therefore preferable when washing carpet in snow!
3. Turn the carpet upside down in the snow. Then whip it and make sure that the dust and dirt that the vacuum cleaner did not manage to get rid of comes off completely!
Tip: If you do not have a whip, you can also use the brush to turn it on! In many cases, the dirt is really deep, so do not skip this just because you do not have a carpet whip at home.
4. Turn the carpet back and pour snow over! Then use a brush to brush the carpet with the snow.
5. Shake the carpet. Turn it upside down again - repeat this on both sides of the carpet a few times.
Do not forget that the other side of the carpet than the one you often have lying up also attracts a lot of dust. Therefore, you should feel free to turn these rugs over several times for best results.
6. Take in the carpet and hang it in a place where it can easily be air dried. Let it lie and dry until dry.
Do not put back the carpets you used in the snow until they have dried completely and are dry. This will cause them to start smelling bad in your home and you can also damage the floor if they are very damp. Let them take their time! Often carpets should dry quickly.
7. Done! Now you can use your fresh carpet!
