Christmas tips

Clean up Christmas like a pro!

When do you clean up after Christmas? Some do it already on December 25, others on New Year's Day and some follow the tradition and wait until January 13.

Psst ... Make the cleaning fun and see it as a workout. When you actively clean, you burn about 260 calories per hour, something that can be welcome after all Christmas food.

To think of:

  • Clean from top to bottom, one surface at a time. For example, start with taller cabinets and finish with sinks. Dirt easily descends from the higher spaces to the sink and floor, making it unnecessary to start with the lower surfaces. This way you do not have to clean surfaces twice.

  • "Less is more" when it comes to detergents. You easily destroy surfaces and have to work longer to get rid of the detergent than to clean the surface itself.

__Stains: __

  • There are often stains here and there from food that has been carried around and then walked on. With the help of a microfiber cloth and cleaning spray, you can get rid of this in no time. Always spray in the cloth and never directly on the surface! This is to not destroy any surface you clean, but also as we mention before - it actually takes more time to clean up all the detergent then the surface itself.

__ Drain: __

The drain is used more frequently when you're home during Christmas. If the drain smells bad, you can boil 2 dl of vinegar and pour it into the sink. Let stand for at least 15 minutes before turning on the tap.

Did you know that you can easily mix your own cleaning products without a lot of nasty chemicals? Flexible, cheap and best of all - it is gentle on our wonderful environment!

A favorite for the toilet is this one. Simple, flexible and the result? Yes, it will be shiny!

You need:

• 1 dl vinegar (12%)

• 2 tablespoons soap

• 4 dl water

• Toilet brushes

Do this:

Rinse the toilet and clean the inside of the toilet seat with the toilet brush. Mix vinegar, soap and water in a spray bottle and spray the mixture on the porcelain inside the toilet seat. Let it soak for at least 30 minutes, but it does not hurt if it is allowed to work any longer. Use the toilet brush and clean the inside of the toilet seat. Flush!

__Get things to shine! __

  • Stainless steel surfaces will be fingerprint-free if you take a cloth with a few drops of concentrated detergent on and pull over the surface. Wipe dry with a dry cloth.
